GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
INTERNATIONAL VIDEO TRANSCRIBERCreate in-language transcripts from recorded videos or audio files for used in closed captioning. This contract position allows you freedom to work from anywhere, or at anytime you prefer. A. Job Description a. We e-mail you a link to the corresponding video or audio file. b. You transcribe all spoken words, which includes audio descriptions for related background music or audio/sound effects. c. You e-mail the completed transcript back to us within 24 hours after we send you the e-mail. B. Job Requirements a. Capable of transcribing an hour-long video within 4 hours, with a minimum accuracy rate of 97.5%. b. Available to transcribe at least two hours of video a week. C. Job Pay a. We pay for completed transcripts based on recorded video/audio minutes. The per minute rate is based on your work experience and transcription accuracy. Although you must review your own work and proofread the same transcript more than once, we do not pay for the extra time spent. b. You can choose to receive your check either monthly or whenever it exceeds the dollar amount you specify. c. We encourage you to take as much transcription work as possible, preferably 5~20 hours per week. d. Since you will be working from home, this job depends heavily on your work ethic. To ensure a high degree of accuracy, we do proofread your completed work. When errors are found, your per minute rate will be subject to adjustment with no advance notice. D. Notes a. You do not need to correct the speaker's grammatical errors or understand the video subject or contents. But you do need to do Internet research to verify names of places, people, jargon, slang, or terminology are spelled correctly. b. No benefits are provided, since this is a part-time contractor job. You will also need to fill out a 1099 form for tax purposes. INTERNATIONAL VIDEO TRANSCRIPT PROOF-READERProofread in-language transcripts based on recorded videos or audio files. This contract position frees you to work from anywhere, at anytime you prefer. A. Job Description a. We e-mail you a transcript work log that was done by one of our transcribers. The e-mail will include a link to the corresponding video. b. While you proofread, highlight mistakes in the transcription work log. Pay attention to the timestamps on the problematic spots and any uncertainties noted by the transcriber. Make corrections on the transcript. c. E-mail the corrected transcription work log back to us within 24 hours after we send you the e-mail. B. Job Requirements a. Capable of proofreading a transcript for an hour-long video within 2 hours, with a minimum accuracy rate of 99.5%. b. Capable of dealing with heavy accents from non-native speakers and videos with poor, noisy audio quality. c. Expect to proofread 5~15 hours of video per week. C. Job Pay a. We pay for proofreading based on each recorded video minute. The per minute rate is based on your experience and speed. If you have to re-proofread the same transcript many times, we do not pay for the extra time spent. b. You can choose to receive your check either monthly or whenever it exceeds the dollar amount you specify. c. Since you will be working from home, this job depends heavily on your work ethics. You add time codes on the transcript for the assigned video. c. You e-mail the completed caption file back to us within 24 hours after we send you the e-mail. B. Job Requirements a. Familiarity with CPC Caption Maker or other captioning software (e.g. Swift, MagPie) b. Familiarity with DCMP SDH requirements C. Job Pay a. We pay for completed captions based on recorded video/audio minutes. The per minute rate is based on your work experience and caption accuracy and quality. Although you must review your own work more than once, we do not pay for the extra time spent. b. You can choose to receive your check either monthly or whenever it exceeds the dollar amount you specify. c. You are required to complete at least 2 hours of recorded video/audio per week.
